Hellsing Manga

Volume Nine

(Ch. 71) Castlevania (2)

As Alucard dreams of his past, Seras tries calling to him. He manages to return to the present as Anderson attacks both of them...but the assault is quickly paid back ten fold as Alucard shoots the nail embedded in Anderson's chest. Seras is saved, and Alucard reforms to his Level 3 self, presumably to make the final attack on his long-time rival.

(Ch. 72) Heart of Dream

Anderson and Alucard continue their battle. Alucard's fist-attack lands for all it's worth, clenching at Elena's Nail, ripping it from Anderson's chest as if it was only some annoying splinter. Sadly, in doing so, Alucard also rips out Anderson's heart in the process, the pulsing flesh engorged with vines and spikes. Alucard lets it all drop from his hand as he comes to terms with what's happened, tears of blood falling from his eyes as he begs an answer as to why it all had to come to this. Apparently Alucard saw himself in the Paladin, in the sense that both of them gave up everything in order to become monsters.

(Ch. 73) Heart of Dream (2)

Anderson's last words are heart-felt and sincere as he passes on into oblivion. Alucard himself grants the Paladin a smile, and Integral sets her sword to the ground, its shadow casting a cross for the fallen Priest. However, mourning converts quickly to surprise and outrage as Dark Walter himself desecrates Anderson's ashes and defames the dead as nothing more than rubbish. The Butler finally reveals himself to his past comrads in arms!

(Ch. 74) Relics

Integral and everyone around are still surprised by Walter's appearance. In a mad fury at Anderson's death, Yumie attacks Walter...and fails. Heinkel too tries avenging her, now two, fallen comrads, but is beaten in one foul shot from the Captain's mauser. Left alone on the battlefield, Alucard, Seras and Integral prepare for what could be one of the most devastating battles since WWII itself, with the Doc and Major looking onward from the zeppelin with great amusement.

(Ch. 75) Heart of Iron

On the sidelines of the war, a distance from London, two Knights of the Round Table confere about what to do regarding London. Penwood's last transmission falls on ears that seek not necessarilly to aid, but to erraticate...and it would seem there is indeed a betrayer to the Queen's Knights. Someone leaking information about their plans to Millennium. Who though? Who could it be? How long? 10 years? 20 years? Could it have been all the way since Warsaw 1944?

(Ch. 76) Finest Hour (1)

Heinkel regains her senses, finding that the Captain had spared her life. However, that cannot be said for Yumie, who Walter showed no mercy to whatsoever. In a strange act, the Captain tosses Heinkel a medical pack and gestures that she should not interfere with the fighting anymore, and takes off. However, enfuriated at her partner's death, Heinkel sets out on a vendetta to take Walter out. On the flip side, Alucard demands orders once more from his Master, and in what could be seen as a death sentence for the one man that guided her throughout these past ten years, Integral commands that Alucard destroy their enemies without second thought. Words to echo her intent even back in Rio.

(Ch. 77) Finest Hour (2)

Integral finally says those three little words that Millennium has begged her for, and in doing so, has ascended to the place of #1 enemy in the Major's eyes. Landing the Hindenburg II between Alucard and Walter, the Major demands Integral come aboard to play the final game in their war. Alucard tells Seras to go with her, while he stays behind to execute Integral's last order...to kill Walter, for his betrayal to her and Great Britain. Schrodinger proceeds to welcome Integral onto the air ship, which is greeted by a swift bullet to his head. The Hellsing heriess proclaims she'll kill the demon that is Walter's "new master" and enters the darkness that is the zeppelin.

(Ch. 78) Finest Hour (3)

Alucard and Walter begin their final fight! Things aren't even going too well for the Master Vampire, as every attack he makes is just returned with mockery from Walter. The Casull? A waste of Walter's time. A HellHound familiar? Sliced in half easily. The Jackal? Detonated in Alucard's hands by the Doc himself from the zeppelin! With all his attacks failed, Alucard wastes away in a pile of smoke...and from the goo of the split HellHound rises a familiar face (albeit disgusted by all the crap around him)...Luke Valentine!
